Another ridiculous redneck incident

Motorcycle, Golf Cart Accident Injures Claflin Teenager

An accident involving a motorcycle and a golf cart injured a Claflin teenager Thursday evening.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, around 9:35 pm Thursday, 16-year-old Bryce Moran was northbound on NE 150th about 1.5 miles northeast of Claflin, when he approached a southbound golf cart driven by 16-year-old Nathan Full, who as they passed each other, veered left as Moran veered right. The handlebars of Moran’s motorcycle struck Full’s golf cart, causing Moran to lose control and crash into the ditch.
Moran, who was wearing a helmet, was transported to Clara Barton Medical Center with disabling injuries.
Full and his three other teenage passengers were uninjured.

LOL this is too epic not to mention on this blog. What are the odds that a golf cart carrying 4 teenagers gets nailed by a motorcycle on a country road? Redneck carnage at its best!

Maybe he should of left a business card too...

Suspected Thief Caught After Leaving Cell Phone at Crime Scene

Salina police catch an alleged thief after he unwittingly leaves behind his cellular telephone at the crime scene.
Police say that 18-year-old Joshua Blazier and 23-year-old Adam Eberwein were arrested Thursday.
Officers police found Blazier's cellular telephone at the scene of a vehicle burglary this week in the 1400 Block of Highland. He apparently had dropped it, and didn't realize it.
Officers were able to use the phone to locate Blazier, and through their investigation ended up making the two arrests.
Along with the vehicle burglary, both are also accused of stealing a car from near Kansas Wesleyan University. The stolen car, and the bulk of the stolen items have been recovered.

What a total idiot. And this is the type of gene pool I have around me at home. That dude should be put on display downtown and laughed at for a day straight instead of slapping his wrist with probation.

Volbeat - Fallen

This is currently my favorite song. Never really knew about Volbeat until I heard them on Octane on Sirius/XM. I'm starting to dig the album that this song is on. It's definitely a bad you need to listen to more than once and let it grow on you, as I had my doubts the first time I listened but not any more. Great stuff!

I'm back with this...

Yes I've been gone awhile but that doesn't keep me from posting a new rant.

Walmart.

Yes, the duldrums of society.

It never fails that every time I visit our glorious wally world something totally mind blowing occurs.

Last night I stood in line to purchase a money order for a long time because the guy was talking on his phone and seemed to be trying to figure out why his credit/debit card wasn't working. And to top it all off he then acted like a d-bag to the chick behind the counter cuz surely she was to blame for him being broke.

Hell the last time I was there to purchase a MO the lady with 5 kids in front of me wanted to buy that many cartons of cigarettes with her food stamps! Yeah right, get real. The sad thing is that's what she spend most of the cash she had on her for instead of buying the kids some clothes or maybe more importantly FOOD.

And then you always wonder why they hire people to work the doors who obviously can't function to save their lives. Last night Jaba the Hutt's sister was sitting on a motorized cart half asleep and dreaming of donuts in front of the doors heading out. Really? Is she supposed to hit the NOS button and run someone down or call security? She didn't even seem like she knew what was going on.

Oh yeah, and gotta love all of the cranky people in the Pharmacy line. I don't think I've ever seen anyone in that line happy unless they were getting some nice pain killers.

That is all for now. Visit your local WalMart to take in a future view of our society. Sad isn't it?

No, my ugly mug has not appeared on a milk carton....

Holy Toledo it's been a long time since I updated this blog! Things have gotten ridiculously busy now that the summer season has kicked in.

As I type this I'm sitting in a hotel lobby in Hinckley, Minnesota, at the start of a 10 day vacation away from the real world. My wife's family and I are on our way into Canada to stay at a resort and do some much needed R&R.

A few things from our trip thus far:

  • Iowa rest stops have WiFi! Though there are a few from Kansas where I'm from I've found that each rest stop we have stopped at in Iowa has WiFi, and great speeds as well. Didn't think this would really come in handy until today when I had to remote in to a server at work and change some settings. Props to Iowa!
  • Though they do have Wifi, they have way too much construction with little or nothing going on. We drove through around 50 miles of construction and saw maybe 2 workers actually on the job. Why are we driving 55mph around a bunch of cones for no apparent reason? The roads weren't even tore up! Take away the props to Iowa, even tho the good above outweighs the bad.
  • Minnesota seems to have things going in the right direction. I feel welcomed in their state and the scenery is starting to change to something different. As far as I can tell Kansas = Iowa in scenery. Boring, flat, lots of crops, etc. The cons for Minnesota would be their lawn mowing depart with the roads. The median in the Interstate has never seen a mower of any kind I'm pretty sure. Somebody buy those guys a Bad Boy or somethin'!
Really I can't complain too much. So far the trip has been great, some boring driving but that's expected with the around 1,000 mile trip. We're over half way, so the only real obstacle is crossing the border tomorrow and figuring out how to drive in KPH instead of MPH!

Hope to blog again soon, hopefully I'll be dominating some Walleye, Northern Pike, Smallmouth Bass, maybe even Musky soon in Canada-land!

Wiper Blades, a Technology Even I Can't Figure Out

So went out last night to try and change my windshield wiper blades and had some major issues. Why the hell was this so hard for me? All you do is push on the tab and slide them out. The neighbors must have been laughing at my incomptenence.

The way things were going I figured a brain surgeon was needed to figure this out. Might of needed the rocket scientist to team up with him too.

In the end the light bulb finally clicked on and I got it with some help. To the wiper blade manufacturers of America. Can we just make this with a quick release button? Would that be too much to ask for? Maybe color pictures and step by step instructions for those that have issues? I mean for pete's sake I'm an IT guy and can work on any kind of tech without problem but can't change wiper blades?

On a non-related note, I should of specified in my blog yesterday that the design I currently have is an old one. Since I do a lot of web development I know not to go live with a design until I'm completely satisfied with it. The one on here now is something I found on one of the gazillion free blogger template sites.

Back to the original topic, here's one of my favorites from Heywood Banks:

Reworking my Blogger Template

I've been re-working my blogger template for awhile now but can't settle on anything I really like. Some of the things I can't decide on include:

Should I make it a 3 column or 2 column page? If it's a 3 column should I put the 2 columns next to each other or split by the big column for content?

Another one is colors. What should I do here? I love the dark pages but I think the pages with lighter backgrounds have better hits and readability, what do you think?

Also what are some of your favorite widgets that you have on your blog?

Nerdy post today, but something everyone reading here has to deal with :)

Maybe my favorite band of all time can help get your day started out right...
