So went out last night to try and change my windshield wiper blades and had some major issues. Why the hell was this so hard for me? All you do is push on the tab and slide them out. The neighbors must have been laughing at my incomptenence.
The way things were going I figured a brain surgeon was needed to figure this out. Might of needed the rocket scientist to team up with him too.
In the end the light bulb finally clicked on and I got it with some help. To the wiper blade manufacturers of America. Can we just make this with a quick release button? Would that be too much to ask for? Maybe color pictures and step by step instructions for those that have issues? I mean for pete's sake I'm an IT guy and can work on any kind of tech without problem but can't change wiper blades?
On a non-related note, I should of specified in my blog yesterday that the design I currently have is an old one. Since I do a lot of web development I know not to go live with a design until I'm completely satisfied with it. The one on here now is something I found on one of the gazillion free blogger template sites.
Back to the original topic, here's one of my favorites from Heywood Banks:
haha i work at a gas station, and I can change a pair of wiper blades in 5 minutes. sorry bro hahaha
ReplyDeleteSorry, I'm a pro at wiper blades too. Even though I've only done it twice, it's easy to figure out...
ReplyDeletei just make someone else do it!
ReplyDeleteI didn't dare touch my wipers so I had a friend do it, who is a mechanic.
ReplyDeleteGo to Walmart and buy. They will put on for free..
ReplyDelete>implying you want people from walmart fudging with your car
ReplyDeletei had problems the first time that i put wiper blades on. i now put them on with ease, once you know the technique they are easy.
ReplyDeletei have no clue how cars work
ReplyDeleteI have never done it but it's about time I did actually.
ReplyDeleteDon't worry, I too am very incompetent with car maintenance.
ReplyDeleteI have the same problem. I think the procedure is too non-technical for people with sense to figure it out.
ReplyDeleteThe ones on the bus always seem to work just fine.
ReplyDeletethose things annoy me, its a nightmare to change mine. especially when its snowing and freezing your hands.
ReplyDeleteIt took me a while to figure out my wiper blades haha...weird song too.
ReplyDeleteYeah wiper blades are a pain.
ReplyDeleteI saw the title of this post and instantly started singing the Wiper Blades song in my head. Then I saw you included it in your post. Then I lol'd.
ReplyDeletecould have been worse. You could have had Ikea instructions.
ReplyDeleteI sympathize I'm not very technically inclined.
ReplyDeleteNever changed my wipers before...
ReplyDeleteAh, we all have our individual skills and talents. Never having tried to change wiper blades I'm not sure what the outcome would be. If it makes you feel any better, I suck at all things requiring tech skills. A three year old would know how to do that stuff better than I would ...but there are plenty of other things I can do well...
ReplyDeletefollowing and contributing. and i don't like your wiper blade song at all.
ReplyDeletethats crazy!
ReplyDeletethat is a good idea!
ReplyDeletePractice makes perfect. lol Cool video by the way. :)
ReplyDeletehaha dude really? L2man bro
ReplyDeleteI've done it before and I don't even have a full driving licence yet. :P
ReplyDeleteI be the Wiperblade pro.
ReplyDeleteYou know, that's a million dollar idea, the wiper quick release button...

ReplyDeletewiper blades are advanced technology.
ReplyDeleteNice video, thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteyou just reminded me of that movie about the guy who invented windshield wipers...
ReplyDeletemagnets?
ReplyDeleteTo be fair, not all wipers are made equal. Some car makes have it far easier than others
ReplyDeletedude.. i'm sorta car-illiterate too - at least the song cheered me up ;)
ReplyDeleteWiper blades are infernal contraptions, but I refuse to ask my car mechanic neighbor for help on such a simple thing.
ReplyDeletei don´t know how to change the wipers, either, the guy that change my car´s oil is the one that does it.
ReplyDeleteAlthough you can obviously replace your wiper blades whenever you choose, it is recommended that car owners change windshield wiper blades at least once every year, especially around the fall period in preparation for winter – not everyone remembers to do this though, or sees it as a necessity for their motor.
